Congratulations if you have won 1 of the 60 Major Tournament Event Packages awarded every year! Below are a few of the most frequently asked questions.
Can I use it for a local tournament or for the WTP OPEN / WLPC?
Unfortunately, no. The purpose of giving away these major event packages is so you can not only get an experience of a lifetime, but also win some big money - all the while bragging about how you did it all through World Tavern Poker.
What Tournaments Qualify?
Any WSOP, WPT, or Heartland Poker Tournament series qualifies. You can check out their websites and see when one will be in your area. Under very rare circumstances, if there is a Major Event Series in your area (generally a portion of it must be televised) we might approve that as well.
Is there a cash option?
There is. It is 70% of the value of your prize. Though we would prefer you to play in a Major Event, we also understand that the cash is a better option for you. Just let us know.
When do I need to decide which tournament I'm playing in?
All Prize Packages are valid until the end of the following calendar year. So, if you won a Package in May of 2023, you would have until Dec 31, 2024 to use it or claim your cash option.
